Hello, Eileen. Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk to me. J

1.   First things first: how did you take up writing?

I'm not sure there was ever a point where I said, “Oh, I think I'll take up writing.”  I began putting things on paper with some short stories.  Something interesting would happen and then it would evolve into a fun fiction story.

2.   What was your very first attempt at creative writing?

I did a lot of creative writing in school, but the first attempt on my own happened while I was bored at work one day.

3.   Where do you get the ideas for your stories?

I'm often asked where I get ideas.  The answer has to be everywhere.  Where I live or travel, what I see, what people do, these and a million other things can spark an idea.

4.   What in particular gave you the idea for your current novel?

I lived a long time in the Southwest.  It was bound to inspire at least one story with its unexplored areas, old mines, caves, and remaining Native American culture.

5.   Do have particular schedules or writing routines when it comes to your work?

There is no schedule or routine to how I write.  It just happens when it happens.

6.   A lot of authors are taking the indie publishing route. What’s your view about it?

I think indie publishing opens up lots of opportunities.  More good books get published than ever before.  Unfortunately, there isn't a good way to know which books are the good ones.  I haven't tried publishing my own work, but I may eventually.

7.   If your story got turned into a movie, who would you like to see star as leads?

I write, so I'm not sure casting is my thing.  I think the people that do that sort of thing can do it better than I ever could.

8.   What are your future plans for writing? Can you give out a teaser or two for your readers?

You ask about my future plans for writing.  I don't plan much.  I mostly just write what comes. Right now I just finished a book.  It is a bit darker than the Alicia Trent series.  I am also working on the next Alicia Trent book where she and Laudine find more adventures.

9.   Do have any particular authors who inspire your work?

Many authors inspire me.  Every time I read a book I enjoy I am inspired in one way or another.

10.                What would your advice be to aspiring authors?

I don't feel qualified to advise other writers.  The advice I give myself is write, write what you enjoy, and keep perfecting your craft.

11.                What would be an ideal gift for you?

An ideal gift for me, hum that is a tough one.  I guess a trip to somewhere I've never been would have to be my answer.  I do love to travel.

Thank you once again for talking me. I wish you all the best with your current work and future works. J
